Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy (OT) is a branch of rehabilitation therapy that helps individuals with injuries; chronic conditions; or orthopedic, neurological, psychological, and developmental disabilities. The goal is to restore the individual’s function so they can return to work, play, and/or performing daily living activities. OT focuses on the “fine” motor skills of the hand, wrist, and elbow.

Our occupational therapists at Hi Desert Physical Rehabilitation Group work with patients of all ages, including children, in developing, improving, sustaining, or restoring their independence. We are trained to address the physical, cognitive, sensory, visual/perceptual, and psychosocial aspects of a person’s daily tasks. We give people the “skills for the job of living” so they can live their lives to the fullest!

At our offices in Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley, CA, our occupational therapists help people regain independence, restore or improve their physical function and abilities, and adapt to their surroundings.
